After we recently did a shingle repair on a home in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, we were recommended to a church right beside it. We always love to do projects on churches and other buildings that serve the greater community, so we were beyond thrilled to work on this projects in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. The reason we were contacted by the church was because they had been experiencing leaks in their social hall. Upon further inspection, we discovered that the leaks were due to an old EPDM (Ethylene Propylene Diene Monomer) roof that had begun to wear down over the years. While EPDM can be a popular choice for flat roofs, we tend to prefer TPO (Thermoplastic Polyolefin) due to its stronger capabilities. We find the TPO not only lasts longer, but that those who choose to use it will not have to ever worry about leaks. This is why we went with TPO for the Harrisburg church’s roof, and the final product is absolutely gorgeous!
A project like this is usually done within three days or, at maximum, a week. The latter timeframe would be due to bad weather or other elements out of our control.
We love doing these TPO style jobs. Other projects we have worked on with TPO include schools, office buildings, and similar commercial establishments in the community.
If you need another example of how TPO is so strong, you can look at swimming pools which use similar products. If the material can hold up against all that water in a swimming pool, imagine how strong it can be when protecting a roof in extreme weather conditions.
