During the pandemic, all of our lives were forced to change quickly. We were quarantined and isolated, and many things are still taking time to go back to normal. The results of Covid are still weighing heavily on the world. Many businesses have either closed or changed drastically. In the roofing and construction business, we are seeing a huge difference in the timeline it takes to finish a project.
Why is this?
In a previous blog, we spoke about the price increase of roofing materials due the pandemic. Since then, this issue has only gotten worse as time has gone on. Because of Covid, there has been a shortage of roofing, siding, and window supplies, but recently, another factor has come into play as well. During the frosty temperatures and storms in Texas, many companies were forced to shut down, including a large manufacturer of roofing and siding materials. This, in addition to the pandemic temporarily shutting many businesses down, has made it much more difficult to get necessary supplies.
So, not only are the prices of roofing supplies continuing to rise, but now, it takes much longer to get materials in.
This means that prices are up and it has been taking longer for jobs to be done. Housing repair companies all over the country are seeing the same issue.
So, what does this mean?
We recommend that if you have work that needs to be done to your house, it might be best to do it sooner than later. The prices are constantly going up and materials are in short supply. With the nice weather, it is a great time to have work done to your house. Roofing prices are soaring and materials are becoming much more difficult to obtain, so if you are able to get ahead on a project, you would save yourself a lot of time and money by doing so.
