Chimney Inspection Reminder

As winter is getting closer every day, and we prepare for the holidays, many people are lighting up their fireplaces for warmth. Having the fireplace going can be a very relaxing way to unwind and keep cozy, but the problem is that most people do not properly stay up to date with fireplace inspections.

In previous blogs, we have discussed the importance of keeping your fireplace in good shape, but this blog is your reminder that, if you have not gotten your fireplace checked yet this year and you plan on using it in the winter, it is time to have it looked at.

The reason it is so important to make sure your fireplace is clean is to ensure there is no buildup of creosote. This substance can be leftover after burning wood when smoke does not fully release from the chimney. This can then create a buildup of this chemical. This is very dangerous because creosote is actually very flammable. If you have a ton of creosote in your chimney, there is always the possibility that it could catch fire and burst into flames, starting a house fire.

It is worth it to take the extra time and have someone come look at your chimney instead of simply ignoring it. Preventing a house fire is essential, and all you have to do is have someone stop by to take a look inside your fireplace and clean it out.

At CR3 American Exteriors, our customers come first and foremost. Your safety is our priority, and we want to make sure that you are doing everything possible to keep you and your family happy and healthy.

Take the extra time before the holidays start to have a professional come take a look at your chimney. If you are not sure if it needs to be cleaned, have someone come look at it anyway to be safe.

Have a very happy Thanksgiving! We are thankful for you!
