The Three Types of Siding we Offer and their Life Expectancy

At C3 American Exteriors, siding is one of our specialties. We replace siding on many homes every year, and we love to help our customers find what they are looking for in order to properly customize their houses. One of the biggest questions people have when it comes to siding is life expectancy. This can be one of the deciding factors on what type of siding is preferred and allows homeowners to be aware of how long their siding might last.

In this blog, we will look at the three types of siding we offer and their average life expectancy.

  1. Engineered Wood- This siding is made up of multiple types of wood scraps. It comes in a variety of colors and offers a strong resistance to the elements. With proper care, engineered wood can last anywhere up to thirty years!
  2. Insulated Vinyl- This type of siding is made of a solid rigid foam insulation. It is very energy efficient. The lifespan of insulated vinyl is anywhere between twenty to forty years depending on how it is cared for and the natural elements.
  3. Fiber Cement- This type of siding is made up of clay, cement, and wood fiber. It can vary greatly in appearance and each home with fiber cement has a completely unique look. This siding in particular has one of the longest lifespans. It does not require much maintenance and is very durable. Fiber cement can actually last up to fifty years, making it a great investment.

As you can see, there are many things to consider when choosing a new siding. The good news is that we can help you when it comes to deciding. If you have any questions or uncertainties please give us a call so we can help you clarify and find what siding best suits your needs.
